Humbled

We've worked really hard lately establishing a bedtime routine with Emery. It goes something like this:

-Go into her room and make sure it's cleaned up.

-Get her jammies on

-Read her bedtime book "Time for Bed" (Yes we have this memorized and have for quite a while)

-Read scriptures, Jared reads and I do my best to keep her sitting on my lap. Last week I found one of the cheap copies of The Book of Mormon cleaning and gave it to her. So she holds it and flips through it while Jared reads.

-Sing the song for the week-we switch on Sunday nights.

-Prayer, Emery has already learned to kneel next to her bed and fold her arms. She normally jabbers for a few minutes, then we switch off who helps her say her prayers each night. 

A night last week after she said prayers she climbed into her bed with her scriptures. She would not let go of them. She finally was almost asleep then remembered she had them in her hands and started flipping through them, I finally got them out of her hands and she fell right asleep. 

She is constantly reminding me of the important things in life.

Coolest Mom

I won the coolest mom award last week for the night when I let the girlie lick the beater/rubber scraper/bowl from frosting. There are a lot of pictures but they were just too cute not to post.

BYU

The girlie had to wear BYU attire to support the team (even though they lost). She was too cute for words.

The girlie is getting old and is such a big helper. She's learning new things everyday!

(she isn't wearing a shirt because we took her out of her high chair after eating watermelon and she jumped right on my chair.)

Hair

I was looking through pictures on iphoto and saw these. I can't believe how much Emery's hair (as well as her) has grown since the middle of March!

15 Months

Her eyes are looking more blue than green these days.

At 15 months Emery:

-Weighs 27.5 lbs, no idea how tall.... I just know she towers over her friends

-Is in 12 mo. - 4t clothing and a size 6 shoe

-Loves to color

-Is loving looking at books more/will let you read a few pages

-LOVES cheese, watermelon, pasta, yogurt, and peanut butter

-Signs: more, please, eat, all done, and water

-Can say: mom, dad, touch down (as she throws her hands in the air), papa (granpa), mama (granma), no, puppy

-Barks when you ask her what the dog says

-Loves baths

-Sleeps in a twin size bed

-Kicked the bottles shortly after 14 mo.

-Thinks she's fabulous when she goes in the potty, and mom thinks she's more fabulous when she tells us she needs to go and goes poop!

-Loves to say prayers

-Loves her babies

-Is crazy as ever.

-Is getting her 4th molar (which makes 12 teeth)

-Loves to dance when she hears music, especially in the car

-LOVES dogs. I pull up pictures on the computer and let her hold it and she points to them and barks, tries to push buttons and ends up switching which one is big and starts over.

She brings so much joy into our home and we can't imagine life without her!

Mischieveous

Please note: this dress is ten bajillion times cuter when she keeps her bow on her head.

The girlie is getting pretty mischievous these days and loves to pull everything out of the drawers/cupboards that she has figured out how to get into despite the baby locks. We love her and she keeps us on our toes.

Dad brought bubble wrap in for her to walk on. She didn't know what to think of it which didn't surprise me  since she HATES loud noises. Speaking of loud noises, a 6-ish year old pulled the fire alarm at church last week (I came around the corner as he and his dad were walking into church as he did it). She bawled. Even when we went outside it wasn't better because there are alarms on the outside, and it was raining so we didn't want to go into the parking lot. It was quite the adventure and everyone was pretty confused because you don't often get fire alarms at church!

Spots

The girlie had spots show up this week... we have no idea what they are, and neither does the dr. 

This is a picture at their best, by the end of the day they're dime size and redder. Every day more and more have popped up.

Sorry for the poor cell phone quality, this is when they were almost to their worst.

Also I mentioned a while back that she loves bath time so I finally remembered to grab the camera out and get a few pictures.

[For the Love] of Peanut Butter

The girlie had her first peanut butter & jelly this week and thought it was pretty fabulous... especially when she discovered she could tear it apart and eat the peanut butter off the bread. Since then, I skip the jelly and give her a piece of bread with peanut butter on it. She definitely takes after Jared and I with this love.

And these days we're getting a whole lot of this, "Really mom/dad" look.
