FCS Conference

Last Tuesday I headed with my Method's Girls and Sister Lammons down to Provo to attend the state FCS Summer Conference. It was a great experience!!! We had a normal minivan which holds 7 and there were 7 of us!

After we got to Provo and checked in we headed to Olive Garden. It was so yummy and nice not to have to cook!!!

Before we started our water aerobics in the hot tub! Megan told us since we couldn't do our normal exercise we must do aerobics!!

I learned how to do awesome curls without curlers! you use this head band then take the hair up and over and keep wrapping all of it, then go to sleep! This is the before we start.

Finished before she headed to bed. (I forgot to get one the next morning but it was so pretty!!! I will collect pics and then post one!)

Kassandra and I were in different rooms/packed at our own houses and ended up basically being twins! I told her I could go and change to my gray pants so we could completely match but we decided not to! :)

Wednesday was spent in classes. We were at the Wilkinson Center from 7:30 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. It was a LONG day. But it was full of adventures! Tom Jackson was the keynote speaker and did an awesome job! It was his last talk-he was retiring he announced. Which is pretty sad that I am coming in as he is going out. He has published 5 books about teaching activities and classroom engagement. At lunch I got to meet my Co-operating teachers/department! There are 4 in the department and they are all so sweet. All of them are LDS which is a bonus! I will be working with 2 of them. (Side Note: The registration cost $40, then they give you $20 back on a food card but you can spend it anywhere on the BYU campus-which was awesome!!!) That night Jared came and picked me up and we just had a break. It was nice to get away for a bit and relax!!! Then Thursday was another day of classes. Dan Clark spoke to us and it was really good! Megan and I totally skipped a couple of the classes because we were so exhausted and needed a break-but the best part is that we ran into Sister Lammons both times because she was skipping too! Thursday I came home with Jared. We stopped in Lehi and had dinner with Julie and Jill and the kids before coming home. It was a long but quick few days!!!

Eternal Perspective

I teach tomorrow in Young Women's on Eternal Perspective. It really has been a huge part of our lives this past year. When things get crazy and you don't understand try to see things from the eternal perspective.

A Good Day.

You know you have had a good day when:

it takes you 90 minutes to do 2 lesson plans.

your teacher tells you that you have beautiful penmanship-your methods teacher.

you get your first set of real lesson plans back and you got 59/60. with only ONE comment for improvement, the rest are about how well she thinks you did.

your food science test still isn't scheduled.

you actually understand what he taught in food science today.

you get to have leftover enchiladas for lunch.mmmmmm.

it is shipping day.

AND the day still isn't over.

I have a loving Heavenly Father who KNOWS what I need.

Sister Fielding and the Bar J Wranglers

I have officially been the Laurel adviser for a whole month now.Every time Jana (Sister Brewer) says 

"Sister Fielding"

 I get caught off guard and then remember that she is talking to me. :) It is kind of crazy to think that I am their leader since I am only 2 years older than some of them. I am enjoying it though. This last weekend our stake had youth conference. Friday, and Saturday were spent in Rexburg. Friday they had games, dancing, and some free time. They also had all you can eat Reed's Dairy Ice Cream and a catered Teriyaki dinner. Thenn Saturday they had a service project before heading home for a few hours in the afternoon. We met back at the church at 3 and then headed to Jackson. It was quite the adventure! It was a pretty drive, it was my first time to Jackson! Before the show we walked around a bit, they had scones you could try and small pieces of steak. GOOD THING! We were starving! There were over 200 youth and leaders there! And we all had the matching shirts that I am wearing below. Also all of the girls refer to Jared as 

Jimmer. (HE LOVES IT!)

 Louisa and Anna-this was on the way, she said she didn't sleep well the night before. They rented two of those wedding tents-the HUGE ones. Apparently they aren't very insulated.

Dam Marathon

Jared and I had the opportunity to help out with the Dam Marathon last week. We didn't get pictures of us actually helping but it was fun. We helped on the first day of packet pick up. We were there from 12-4:30 and they fed us pizza and we got to take a full pizza home. It was a lot of fun I thought! I am sad about the change in shirts, but that's okay because these sure are bright!!!! Jared and I both have an orange one because last year they gave me an XL so it is now in his drawer, and I have mine from my very first year. I love helping with the marathon every year. I think I might have to travel sometime and help out again! ;)

One of my Favorite Things

is Shipping Day at our house.

It means 2 things.... 1. IT IS OUT OF OUR HOUSE!!!! 2. Jared made some $$ :) Seriously I love helping him pack stuff to get it ready to ship. It is such a good feeling for me!!! Today 24 packages... lets hope the rest of this week goes this well! June has been good to us.

Golfing!

I went golfing for the first time this last weekend! We went to Sandcreek golf course and did the short course there. Paul and Julisa also came-but I don't have a picture of them. Since there were so many of us they had us split into two groups. Julisa, Paul, Jordan and Cahlin went in the first group and then Matt, Val, Jared, and I were in the second group. I seriously loved it! I am glad too because the other day Jared asked me "When I get old can I golf?" But I think we might be doing more of it before then. On 6 holes I got a 40 for my first time... ha! Not TERRIBLE! My best was a 4 on one of the holes! YAHOO!!! :)

I stole this quote/image from my friend Carrie's blog. It is so true. We think that we can make plans and a list of things that will happen in our life but Heavenly Father sometimes has other plans for us. I have realized this in my own life. I planned on being done with school and possibly working on getting my cosmetology license before I got married. Jared planned on going on a mission before he got married. BUT Heavenly Father had other plans for us. We don't know why things were supposed to happen the way that they did but they were. We KNOW that we did what we were supposed to. We may still not understand why, but we are having a fun time trying to figure it out!

Honeymoon Part 3

After we checked out on Wednesday we headed to BYU for Jared to go to class. I sat outside and read while he was in his first class. Then I went with him to his second and read. Then during his third class I met up with my friend from EFY Cecily. After he was out of class we went to Fuddruckers for lunch.

I wasn't feeling well after we ate so our plans changed and we ended up just going back to our hotel. We were there for a while and I took a nap while Jared studied. Then that night I went to Julie and Jill's house and hung out while he went and took a test. The weather was crazy!!! It was raining and blowing, madness honestly. We stopped by Wal*Mart and got cereal and milk because it sounded sooo good to both of us. On Thursday we had plans to go to the temple with Jordan and Cahlin. We were 3 minutes from their house when Jordan text and said they weren't going. We ended up going to their house anyways and waking them up. Then they were telling us about their new game "Ticket to Ride" (we are addicted now). After they explained it they said "Well now we have to play." So we went up to change out of our dress clothes and play. When I pulled out my pants to put them on-I realized that Jared can't tell the difference between his jeans and mine! Yup- he brought me his jeans to wear.

We played a few games with Jordan and Cahlin before heading back to our hotel to get me clothes. We stopped by Roxberry and got smoothies and cinnamon almonds. We headed back to BYU to go to the Carl Bloch Exhibit.

It was awesome!!! It was such an amazing thing to experience and the paintings are incredible. You could see the cracking in the paint because of age. After we went to the exhibit we went to the bookstore to see if they had malt balls-a hunt we were on for a long time. We ended up finding a collection of rubber duckies. It was so funny. We picked our favorites.

Then we headed back to our hotel. We were there for a bit then changed our clothes and headed to get dinner.

I wanted Cafe Rio so we stopped there and got me a burrito and chips and salsa. Then we saw an Arbys and Jared wanted that. We ordered his food and then the guy at the window gave us an extra sandwich. He said it was a new one and that he wanted us to try it and let us know what we thought. We asked if he was the manager and he said "in training." He was so nice. After we grabbed dinner we headed to Julie and Jill's to eat and do some laundry (they were out of town on spring break as of that morning).

(This poster is from the museum at BYU-it was another exhibit. Jared picked it up and said "I want you!") We went back to our hotel that night to wake up early Friday morning. On Friday we checked out of our hotel and headed back to Idaho. We watched Parker and Julia for a bit then took them to Jared's where we started packing stuff up. The rest of that day was spent moving into our trailer. (That is a post for another day! I will do pictures or a video tour of our trailer.)

Honeymoon Part 2

Breakfast in Pocatello before we headed to Utah. Mrs. Powells and Orange Julius.

Monday when we got to Utah we headed had appointments to get messages. We got there a bit early, but didn't have enough time to check into our hotel. So we decided it would be wise to stop by the bank and deposit all of the money/checks that we were given.

After we did that we still had a bit of time so we went to Down East and I got a couple of new shirts. We were right on time for our messages. It was a couples message and it was AMAZING! That was the first time either of us had ever had one. That hour went WAY too fast! Then we went and got gas and headed to our hotel.

We stayed at the Marriott in Salt Lake.

That was drama. Seriously. (toilet not secured to the floor, no fridge, no microwave, pay for parking, pay for internet, getting moved to another room, the shower head not secured, being on the side of the building where the construction is taking place.)

That night we went to Olive Garden for dinner, and then to the Gateway Mall for some shopping.

Tuesday we went to Target, DI, and Jared spent some time studying for tests that he needed to take.

That night we went to Five Guys-YUM! We loved it.

And we also discovered another DI that Jared didn't even know about.

We stopped at Jamba Juice on the way home.

On Wednesday we woke up and checked out of our hotel.
