Pinterest Project "Percentage"

About September/October ish I challenged myself to a project. I needed to take action on my Pinterest. I wanted 10% of the things I had pinned to be things that I had done/tried/etc.
I decided to do this project in two ways:
1. To delete things that I had pinned that I knew I was never going to do.
2. To actually do things.

I went through my boards and organized them better so that I would find projects easier. I deleted things that I knew weren't "my style" anymore, either sewing, crafting, clothes, etc. I deleted things that I didn't feel had "meaning" etc.  (Besides Jared's board, that one is his, but I still counted it in my overall pin count)

As I went through boards I moved things into "Projects I've Done" or "Recipes I've Tried." Then I started doing. It was actually really fun. I felt accomplished, productive and started feeling like the Kara that I've always been, but have been busy/lazy lately.

I'm going to keep this challenge going. What's the point in wasting your time on there, dreaming of all of these fabulous things and not actually doing?

I don't have a specific goal in mind yet for my next "Pinterest Project Percentage" but I do plan on coming up with a percentage soon and getting busy for 2014. I already have at least 3 projects underway!

If you have Pinterest why don't you join me?

My "Projects I've Done" and "Recipes I've Tried" boards are the last ones.

(Side note: Future Wedding is Julisa's board that I pin to for ideas for her... I had one wedding and it was fabulous! ;) )

A Project

I've slowly been taking t-shirts and putting them into a "t-shirt quilt" pile. After we moved I cut the fronts off the shirts that had blank backs, to save at lest some space. The other day I decided to take them all and cut them into "squares." They aren't the same at all, so we'll see how it comes together when I decide to sew it!

In the end I counted and that is a pile of 43 t-shirts! I can't believe how many we have! And we still have some in our drawers that we wear! That pile is only 6" tall! It felt so good to fill a complete trash can!

Enjoy the Journey.

Visitors, Tall, and a New Nightgown

We had some last minute guests on Friday night. Jared's Mom and Granma were coming back from California and were only planning on stopping for 30 minutes. They ended up staying the night and his aunt brought his Granpa down to stay as well. Jared's grandparent's car was having break problems and it was 8:30 p.m., so we all decided it would be better if they spent the night. :) After a minor car accident Saturday morning (the e brake got stuck on his grandparent's car, his granpa was able to turn it enough not to hit our neighbors car, but it ran over his leg and jumped the curb and hit a parked car across the street), Everyone left by 4. I was able to attend the General Relief Society Meeting that evening at the conference center in SLC with some friends. It was fabulous! I'm so glad I got to go!

Thank goodness our fridge has child lock! I have started to remember to put it on after cleaning up puddles on the ground a few times.

I found this men's large Oregon Ducks shirt with tags on it for $1 at a yard sale. I decided to make it into a night gown it it turned out so great! Not to mention my dad loves it. ;)

The girlie is learning to undress herself....

And is trying some new fashions... don't worry, we talked to her about modesty. :)

Enjoy the Journey.

Hobbies

My hobbies have been good to me lately. :)

All of this (plus new headlight bulbs for my car) for $14.40

I forgot to take a before pic, so my before is halfway done. We got this dress from Jared's parents for Em and I found fabric and put sleeves in it for $0.80!!! I am very pleased with how it turned out.

Enjoy the Journey.
