Cell Phone Update

This came up for a quick few seconds on Studio 5 the other day but it was long enough for the girlie to realize it was her favorite show, HSM!

Sometimes... she tells me when she's done with her lunch.

From her first french braid to acting like she's five...she's growing too fast!

She was looking at me through the toilet paper holder and thought it was so funny!

She lost a toy and was on a mission to find it!

If mom's putting a sports bra on to work out so am I!

I can't get enough of her little braid!

Excuse the face, it really was her choice and she ate over half of it. I just took the picture of the wrong chewing moment. :)

My little 50's house wife.

Playing the guitar!

A new way to sport a headband.

BEST DAY EVER!!! A trip to Krispy Kreme!

Popsicles are a new favorite!

Popcorn while mom get's the oil changed, then a flower for each of us when we paid, BEST PLACE EVER.

Jared's Aunt Amy and cousin Savanna got to go to the Grammy's thanks to Amy winning a trip through Ellen and the local ABC channel. They had such a fabulous time. They were on the pre show in the audience (we paused and found them) and then several times on Ellen the next day. There was even a close up of Savanna when Ellen gave everyone a phone. They also got 5 blue-rays. It was pretty cool to see them on TV. Emery loved seeing Evanna!

Her new favorite seat.

This girlie can't get enough of washing her hands lately!

Frozen Playdate

Bettilee and Brenlee invited us for a "Frozen" playdate. When we got there Bettilee had crowns for all three kids, a little book of coloring pages, and crayons too! Emery loved the first 20-30 minutes eating popcorn and snacking and then she just wanted to play. The kids started to play and Brenlee was standing on the little kids table, she fell off and put her teeth into her lip. It was soooo sad! After the movie we had lunch and then headed home for naps. It was so fun!

She wanted to cuddle up with Brenlee, and Brenlee did not want to cuddle with her.

This is an always... she's such a girl!

James needed a blanket to watch the movie.

Enjoy the Journey.

Insta Care Open House

There was an open house for the new instacare that is about to open by the American Fork Hospital. It sounds really lame and I was skeptical when Jared told me about it, but then he showed me the flyer we got in the mail and it sounded like fun. We got a few freebies: band-aids, cinch bags, hand sanitizer, etc. Every "stop" there was some kind of fun activity and you collected stickers to enter for the door prizes. At the very end they had parfaits! It was a fun and FREE activity!

Life-size operation.

Whack-a-Snack

Blow up lungs.

(I chopped 7ish inches off of my hair! It feels soooo nice!)

This picture is not a good one of Jared but we all had a fun time and were glad we went!

A Quick Swimming Trip

Jared's mom came down last Monday for a quick 24 hour shopping trip with Lisa Geary. We picked up Jared from work and met them at their hotel so Jared and Emery could go for a swim. I was grabbing their suits out for them to change when I realized I had grabbed clothes for Jared to wear after but not his swimming suit. Julie and Lisa took Emery in the hot tub (the pool was apparently freezing) and Emery LOVED it!  This little girl LOVES swimming!

Quick Visit

Jared's mom came down for a quick visit in Feb. on her way to Georgia flying out of SLC. We snapped this cute picture of the two.

Dear Girlie,

Girlie you had another appointment with the Dermatologist at Primary's this week. You still have spots baby girl! We're going on 6 months (almost 7) with these. Dr. V. doesn't know what they are and has called them a "mystery rash." She moved your med to the morning, put you on another one at night and put you on a different/stronger steroid topical cream. She's hoping this will work, but we go back in May.

Tonight girlie when you reminded mom and dad of the importance of prayer when you said your bedtime prayers. You were kneeling by your bed jabbering away and then we clearly heard "Da-eee, Mom, Gapa" you continued to jabber and then said "Men!" and hopped into bed. It was also a reminder that you really do pay attention to the things we try to teach you and are learning even though you are still little!

Lately when you get into bed and dad is giving you a "squeeze" and a kiss you put your hand on his cheek and turn him to me, grab my cheek and push us together to kiss. You hold your hands on our cheeks and then move our faces away from each other when we are allowed to finish. You'll do it again and say "nose" meaning that you want us to do eskimo kisses. It is pretty adorable. Tonight when you had dad and I kiss you came in for a three-some triangle kiss and we all laughed.

Another thing that you do lately is to go in for a kiss and then lick (generally) dad's nose and say "goooooo!" (gross), and start to giggle and laugh because you think you are so funny. If I try to do it to you during the day you stare at me blankly like "really mom?" but when it's dad it's the funniest thing ever!

Sweetheart, you're our favorite. We're so thankful for everything that you constantly teach us and remind us of.

I love you,

Mom

Cell Phone Udate

The girlie had her first french braid a few weeks ago and now she sports it quite often.

She's learned that if she makes a mess she gets to clean it up.

We bought the cube storage shelf for her toys off of a facebook yardsale page for $15. Killer deal. It's so nice and she can actually enjoy her toys now.

There have been a few cuddle days lately.

She's learned to just eat the cheese out of the crackers and put the crackers back. Easiest way: dump the box.

Granma came down for a quick trip a few weeks ago with a friend and the girlie wanted to be with her constantly.

She discovered how to dump her mega blocks!

And then got to go down stair by stair to pick them up. :)

Enjoy the Journey.

[For the Love]: Of Yogurt and Cereal

This girl is entirely too old lately. She always lets me know exactly what she wants and often by getting it out herself. Oh child locks... if you had only kept her out a while longer! :)

And sometimes she's the resident puppy.

She has a LOVE for cereal lately! This morning our milk had magically been turned green! I showed her and she yelled "NOOOO! NOOOO!" then Jared told her that it was silly and it was St. Patrick's Day! They started to giggle together and she kept saying "Silly."

Enjoy the Journey.

Thoughts

There have been a lot of things on my mind lately and I have really felt that I need to record them. (These images I'm taking from my pinterest board.)

I have been thinking about this a lot lately and about how we shouldn't "wish things away". There are a couple of things lately that Jared and I have been talking about and I just keep being reminded about this quote and how it is so true. I'm not a very patient person, so this has been hard for me to learn, and I am still learning it. I am reminded of this everyday, and my testimony is growing stronger each day of this and how true it is.

This is something else that I have been thinking about lately, about setting realistic goals and working on them at a pace that I am comfortable with, and not needing to prove to someone else that I can do it on their timeline. I have gained a lot of self confidence lately as I have learned to love myself more for who I am, not who I was, or who I am working to become. It has really helped me to take my goals to my Heavenly Father and continually ask for His help daily in achieving them one small step at a time.

This has become increasingly real to me lately as I am now the mother to a toddler. As I mentioned above I'm not very patient and it is something that I am always working on. Every night when I tuck Emery into bed I try to apologize again to her of anything that I may need to that happened during the day and I promise to her that I will be a better mom tomorrow than I was today. It has really helped me utilize the atonement in my life and work on continually striving to become better.

Last, this has been on my mind today more than ever. Today I was set apart as the 2nd counselor in the Young Women's Presidency. As Jared and I talked last night I talked about how I was nervous and how it would make Wednesday nights super busy because we would only see each other for about 15 minutes until 8:30-9 that night. He quickly told me that I would be great at it and that Heavenly Father knows this is where I need to be and that I will do a great job. Today when I was set apart I was told that as I put my most important callings first, that of being a wife and mother, that everything else would also go smoothly. (something to that effect). It was such peace to me to be reminded that He has called me to do this. That I have been entrusted to help teach his precious daughters at this time when they need to be reminded who they are more than ever. I'm excited for this calling and for all that it will teach me!

Aaa-da, K, and Ma My's Visit

Adam, Karissa and Emmaline came to visit! Adam had two internship interviews, so I got to pick the girls up in SLC. It was Karissa's birthday so I took them to lunch, then we headed to the airport to meet Jill, who brought (Mrs.) Julie's car up so she could head back to Idaho. The visit was way too short, but it was so good to see them.

Bathtime is always better with cousins!

We set up HSM so that both girls could see it while we waited at the airport.

Enjoy the Journey.

Finally.

A couple of weeks ago we (finally!) sold Jared's car. But of course a couple days before he was rear ended in Granma's car (his "new" car). We're hoping to get that one fixed soon, It's still drivable, minor damage, but more a "really?" moment as he was on his way to find out he needed a root canal and crown. We're glad it is finally sold, and are still loving the Rendezvous we bought in November.

Enjoy the Journey.
