Rolling Over

Emery started rolling over about 3 months old. For a solid week before she actually did Jared and I could tell it was coming and that she was so close. We would trick each other and turn her over if the other person left the room. The first time she finally did we both missed it. :)  But since then she kept going.  Now she can turn both directions and from her back to belly and belly to back. The first time she rolled from her belly to her back Emery and I were in Idaho and my mom asked me if I had turned her. Once again I missed her "first." Oh well. :) Once she started rolling she would get angry if she got on her belly, but now her tolerance for being on her belly has built up. She still doesn't love tummy time but being able to get her arms out from under her is a bonus, it makes her not so frustrated. She is just a mover and a shaker and doesn't want to be a baby. She just wants to be up and about! The jumper is a fabulous thing because she can be up without having to be held. Also she can arch her back almost completely to get herself out of the bumbo so we have to watch out for that one too!

Enjoy the Journey.

Queen of the Bed

Lately she has been putting herself to sleep at random times. Like on our bed while we are putting laundry away...
And when she is the only one on our bed right in the middle she is queen of the bed.

Enjoy the Journey.

What a morning...

This morning was one of those "welcome to motherhood" mornings. So for laughs (as I am out of it.... and for later) I though I would share. I woke up to discover I had leaked milk all over Em and the bed. Awesome #1. She was all smiles which made me happy. Then I discovered how ridiculously wet she was. Awesome #2, so I changed her diaper. Five minutes later I heard the grunting... someone was filling her diaper. Awesome #3. As I walked downstairs to where the cloth diapers are she started spitting up. Awesome #4. It landed all over the stairs and me, so I grabbed a burp cloth and started wiping up what I could find. I laid her down to change her and started cleaning up a mess of a diaper. Mid changing poop shot out (yes shot), I was so glad I had a wipe or else it would have been everywhere.... Awesome #5. I finished cleaning her and got her dressed. The outfit was HORRID. I am so glad I didn't take the tags off, Awesome #6. I took it off and discovered I really had jumped the gun on the diaper change because she had already pooped in her cloth diaper, Awesome #7. I changed her and I walked back upstairs to get a different outfit. I got back down and discovered our wood drying rack left a yellow line across her onesie Awesome #8. So back upstairs to get something for her to wear. I got back downstairs and got her dressed for her to start fussing. I tried to nurse her and she did for 5 minutes before she was done and angry. So the pacifier went in and my hand on her cheek. Within 5 minutes she was asleep.... That 45 minute start to our morning wore her out too. Hence I sit here blogging about it in my underwear as I have had 6 oreos (mint I might add) and a glass of water for breakfast.... Oh and Jared doesn't get home until 5 today....

I love being a mom and I love this girl. This was my official welcome to motherhood since I have had it sooo easy. I am glad that I have such a good baby. :)

This is Lovee her lion. (Jared named it.... it stuck)

She rolled over for the first time on Saturday

Eating your hand is always a good thing.
Oh and ice cream for the mom at 2 is always a good thing too.

(7.5 hours later)

Jared got home early!  It is raining! I got to work out (even if after 15 minutes of Zumba my rear was kicked). I think Emery is sick (again.... or still). But Life is still good. I still love being a mom and I know I will be ready for my bed tonight!

Enjoy the Journey.

All Smiles

This little girl is all smiles these days.... ESPECIALLY for her Daddy.

Trying on the straw glasses Jared got in the mail.
Sometimes she is super chill when she falls asleep

Helping dad work

I was packing and came back upstairs to find these two sleepyheads. Melts my heart every time.

Going for our first run after getting cleared by BOTH drs.

This was before it even got bad.....

Falling asleep skyping with Granma.... WE LOVE SKYPE.

Emery Kate

Jared took video in the hospital when Emery was born. We finally finished her video and LOVE it.  Check it out at:

Many agree with me that my dad seeing her for the first time is pretty tender. We are so glad we were able to capture so many precious moments of the start of her life.

Let us know what you think. :)

Idaho via Cell Phone Pics

I am so thankful we only live 3.5 hours from our families. We love visiting often.

Actually before we came. She was the only one sleeping on our bed and we both thought it was pretty funny!

Karissa took this (8/24) as she sat next to her in the back seat.

(8/18) Napping with Aunt Karissa

Even's apparently put this on and scared Kelly at 2:30 in the morning.

(8/19) Stretched out snoozing at G&G Fieldings

On Monday we made a trip to Micks... mmmm my tummy was happy.

Beer-Battered Fries.... Need I say more?

This came in the mail while we were there. It made me so happy. Crazy to think Parker starts Kindergarten tomorrow!

This is apparently what she thought of Auntie Julisa today.... haha we all laughed and had to snap a picture. (8/26)

Another great trip to Idaho! I did a much better job about packing light! I brought an extra pack of diapers just incase but I used the last one of the open ones (not the extra) for her diaper change right after we got home. I am getting good at this packing thing! (ha! Total chance on that one!)

It is always sad to leave family, but it gets easier a bit... kinda... okay I lied it never does. Jared goes back to school tomorrow and this is the first fall that I won't be going back. I love school. I love learning but I am so excited to teach in the home and not to have to teach outside the home. Here's to another year of school! (Jare graduates in April and then it will be MBA school sometime in the near future....)

Enjoy the Journey.
